The short-running show Desert Punk touched on a variety of interesting genres, and has enough amazing story and genre diversity in it to keep even a person who has never shown interest in anime a fan. Desert Punk is more than just anime; this show delves into genres such as steampunk and post-apocalyptic fiction. And even though this show has an amazing story and is terrific fun and good entertainment, there are lessons that you can learn from the show that you can apply to real life. Here are a few of the important lessons that I’ve pulled from a few years of being a fan of the show!

The Way People React To Their Surroundings

Kanta Mizuno is a very interesting protagonist, even by anime standards. Mizuno is a handyman that tries to make his way in the wasteland that Japan has become after years of nuclear war and death. His reaction to his surroundings and situations that he comes in contact with usually involves making light of the situation, often with dark jokes. On the other hand, many other characters let the darkness of their surrounds make them into psychopathic, brutal individuals that will never hesitate to kill other people. To be fair however, Mizuno is no choirboy either…

Our Heroes Are Rarely That Heroic

Especially in times of danger and constant stress, the people that we end up looking up to or wanting to be like are often terrible people themselves. For example, Kanta Mizuno is extremely perverted and sexist towards other women in the show. The only reason that he takes the young girl he finds, Kosuna, as an apprentice is because she shows him a picture of her mother and shows him how attractive she will be when she’s older. This (more than slightly) creepy part of the story shows just how unheroic our heroes can often be; the show does a good job of pointing out how our heroes rarely people we should completely look up to.

Ever since people have had a written language they have been fascinated by the idea of the world ending. In almost every single religion there is a story for how the world will end… But what are a few of the scenarios that are plausible and likely to happen? Let’s explore a few of the options in depth today!

The first one that most people think of is that of a zombie apocalypse. However, few people think about the real causes of such a world-alerting scenario. If this happened in the real world, the likely cause would be a virus; such a virus could cause people to become insane and kill others around them. If such a thing happened, the cure would be to find a counter to the virus or disease and cure the people affected by it. Is it possible? Certainly! Will it happen? Only time can tell…

The next is that of a disease. This is not a “zombie” virus but a disease that will spread throughout civilization. If such a disease became a problem in the world, it would be because that disease would be one that was very difficult to shake from the body; traditional vaccines would do nothing against it. For example, vaccines cannot fully prevent our bodies from getting a virus, and if the flu is allowed to develop enough it could reach beyond what our modern technology can handle.

In addition to reading and watching some of my favorite TV shows, my greatest and most useful hobby is wilderness survival. Here are a few of my best tips for staying alive and healthy in the wilderness!

First, know your wilderness and pack accordingly. You are not going to pack the same stuff for a desert expedition as you will for a trip to the mountains. Make sure you research your surroundings and pack to the climate. At one time I brought no warm clothing for a desert expedition; little did I know how cold the desert gets at night! Do a LOT of research, and figure out the things you might not think of until they happen… Like getting cold in the desert! Who knew, right?

Next, make sure that you pack far more lightly than you think you will need. You would be amazed at how heavy your pack will seem after you’ve hiked for a few miles; a good guide is to keep the pack at 1/4 of your weight AT MAX. You will hike yourself into exhaustion if you don’t follow that guide. Use dehydrated food, only carry as much water as you need… That weight adds up!

Have you ever heard of a vision quest? A vision quest was something that young Native American men took to figure out what their purpose in life was. The idea behind it was that it is very difficult to learn what your life purpose is if you are constantly surrounded by the distractions of everyday life. Taking a vision quest required you to go out on your own and figure yourself out. You had to rely on yourself to learn what your life purpose was, and then you are equipped to live your life in a truly meaningful way.

I believe that idea is even more relevant today. We have so many distractions now, it can be very difficult to figure out why you live in the world and what your purpose is. I believe there is not a single person on this planet who wouldn’t benefit from taking a vision quest in the modern era.

This idea of a modern vision quest appeals to me a lot as a dedicated survivalist. I love DIY-type projects and surviving in the woods and wilderness alone, with only my wits to keep me safe and bring me home. Don’t you think you could learn a lot about yourself if you take yourself away from the crutches of technology and learn how to provide for yourself, rely on your own strength, and figure out your own solutions to problems?

First, figure out what you want to do for your vision quest. If you want to do it the simple way, because you’re pressed for time or for health reasons, simply stay in a city that you don’t know. Don’t take friends with you, and only take your phone for emergencies. Use your self-control and discipline to not use it all the time. Phones are a great invention, but this is about finding yourself. Not reading about other people. Rent a room at a hotel, walk around, go sightseeing, find beautiful nature, go on a hike. All of these will help give your life perspective, and help you see what is valuable to you. You’ll have a lot of time alone, just to think.

If you’re more adventurous, take a quest in the real wilderness. If you can, take a week long backpacking trip alone, or with a dog friend. If you take your dog, make sure to bring some dog toys from http://dogsrant.com/ to keep him or her entertained. Bringing a dog can help you get more in touch with your own wild side! Go hiking for miles and miles, cook your own food, and sleep under the stars. If you see a river, swim it! If you see a rock wall, climb it. You’ll have a blast! Just don’t limit yourself.

A vision quest provides perspective on your life, something we need dearly in the modern era. Make sure you don’t pack your phone, bring your great-quality pet cam to record any canine adventures, and hold tightly to your sense of adventure!

Steampunk fashion lives!

Steampunk fashion is the fusion of neo-futurism and Victorian age costume. It’s a fascinating fashion statement that has come to spotlight in the recent years. What makes it very exciting is that it comes with no limits and definitely no strict rules.

You can wear a Victorian costume, accessories, and couple it with trampoline jumping shoes – and you’re good to go! Every steam punk fan is free to mix and match steampunk costumes, accessories, and even footwear.

If you’re fascinated with the steampunk revolution and want to try this bizarre fashion trend, be sure to read this six essential steampunk fashion tips!

  1. Steampunk fashion is simply turning steampunk literature into real-world. Any clothing you find in steampunk literature is perfect!
  2. You’ll never go wrong with Victorian attire. Being the first people to utilize the steam technology as a part of their daily life, it’s not surprising to find steampunk literature being set during their era. The whole of the steampunk literature is strongly inspired by the Victorian world. So, if you’re trying to look steampunkish, go Victorian!
  3. Steampunk fashion is all about providing entertainment to its wearer, delight to its viewer, and fascination to the senses. If your steampunk get it up is living up to these characters, then you’re wearing the right costumes. Don’t be afraid about your outfit just because you think you’re not being “too steampunk.”

Don’t think that there are strict accessories and fashion collections (like goggles) that can create that punkish status look, if these accessories don’t fit your look, you can dump them. In the same way, if you think an accessory can glam up your look, wear it. There isn’t anything wrong wearing a pair of trampoline jumping shoes to complete your attire. Take a look at how these boots look like at this site.

  1. You’re free to choose colors. A lot of people equate steampunk fashion with the dark colors like black, brown, and gray. But the truth is that steampunk can be of any color. You can even wear flashy neon colors and still be punkish! Every color can be relevant to steampunk since the fashion embodies an advanced technology with complicated machine-made patterns and vibrant colors.
  2. If you’re someone who likes to mix and match different fashion styles, steampunk fashion can fit well with these genres. Think of Pulp Adventure, Medieval, Enlightenment era fashion sense? They’ll jive well steampunk. You won’t feel compelled to infuse steampunk with other genres because it fits well. Steampunk talks about uniqueness and diversity allowing it to merge with all sorts of fashion statements.
  3. Have fun and be yourself! That’s the ethos of steampunk. There are no strict rules when you want to look steampunk. Anything that relives the steampunk literature and looks Victorian is technically steampunk! You might hear some disagree but if your fashion makes you feel great and comfortable – that should be good! Your own unique style is very much welcome. Feel free to express your interpretation of steampunk!

If you love to travel abroad or if your work necessitates moving to different countries, such as those in the aviation, Foreign Service, international construction, and full truckload shipping industries, you have to be a survivalist or at least learn how to be one.

Earthquakes. Typhoons. Tsunamis. Rogue waves. Flooding. Terrorism. These doomsday scenarios can happen anywhere across the globe. Over the past weeks, we’ve seen how natural disasters and terrorist acts ravaged several countries. Travelers and migrant workers have been caught by surprise with these sudden unfortunate events. Sadly, many expatriates don’t know what do in case of these emergencies.

Do you know what to do if you find yourself in the middle of an apocalyptic scenario in some remote country?

Preparation is crucial

For those travelling, living or working abroad, preparing for possible catastrophe should always be among your priorities. Among the things you can do include:

  • Bringing important contact numbers: the embassy, your travel agent, employer, travel insurance provider, relatives, and others whom you can alert in case of emergency.
  • Carrying signed, valid passport and, if required, a visa.
  • An identification card that bears emergency information.
  • Leave copies of your passport, visa and itinerary to family or friends.
  • Know the coverage of your travel and health insurance.
  • Be familiar with the local emergency response of the country you’re in. Including local emergency hotlines.

Doing these puts you in the best possible position should disaster strike. It is highly recommended that frequent travelers abroad have an emergency kit or pack that contains all these basic necessities as well as some first aid supplies. It would also help to have some background in survival skills.

After the catastrophe strikes, the next goal is for your safe and immediate extrication and repatriation. The embassy will coordinate with local authorities to account for all their citizens.

Staying safe post disaster

  • Stay in your hotel or workplace if it is safe. If it isn’t safe, bring your emergency bag and move to a place of safety.
  • If you’re out on the street, find a safe refuge, away from immediate danger.
  • Contact your local embassy. They will help you get back home.
  • In case the embassy is similarly ravaged, coordinate with the Red Cross or local authorities for instructions on what to do.

Also take note of these basic post-disaster tips:

  • In case of a blackout, use flashlight for lighting rather than those that could cause fire.
  • Know the routes that may be blocked or cordoned off by authorities without prior notice.
  • Be aware of designated emergency assembly areas.
  • If possible, reconfirm availability of your flight before heading to the airport.

Lastly, you might find some time to study and learn basic survival skills. First aid skills, fire starting, sending distress signal, finding water, building an emergency shelter, cooking, hunting, etc. are some survival skills that can help you after a disaster strikes abroad. Doomsday scenarios can happen anytime, anywhere and the only thing you can do is to prepare for it!

With winter season fast approaching, I bet some are already planning their backcountry ski trips and adventures. Perhaps, many are now on the search for the best ski bindings and other skiing gears and accessories. Some might have even started packing their bags prepping for their annual winter ski tradition.

But before you head out to your ski resort or ski mountain destination, have you ever thought about the possibility of being caught in a survival situation? Have you ever considered finding yourself in an unwanted scenario in the middle of a freezing wilderness?

A lot of experienced winter adventurists and backcountry hikers surely know about what to do in case of these mishaps. But not everyone who treks the freezing mountain slopes actually knows what to do in these survival situations. Here are five basic survival skills you need to know before you even think of going on a backcountry ski adventure.

  1. Build a shelter.

When you’re in the freezing mountain, the first priority is to keep your body warm and get the elements out. Building a shelter is crucial for survival. It can help protect you against possible adverse effects of freezing temperatures. Hypothermia and frostbite are two of the most common causes of the death when in a winter accident.

  1. Start a fire.

Next to building a shelter, you also need to know how to start a fire using the available materials. A fire can significantly increase the chances of your survival when caught in a winter mishap. Some hikers bring emergency provisions that include fire-starters or portable stove. But while these can help start fire, they cannot keep you warm enough for long. You should know how and where to find possible dried sticks to make fire.

Aside from providing heating, the smoke produced can also be used to alert rescuers of your exact location.  Your winter survival doesn’t really need to be large. It’s okay to have a small fire to stretch available wood. Remember that it’s more difficult to find dry woods during winter.

  1. Administer first aid.

This one is a no-brainer. Anyone who plans to go on a winter hiking or backcountry skiing should not just get busy looking for a hiking or skiing gears, like visiting this website, they should also find time to know at least basic first aid.

If you or someone in your group gets injured, someone must know what to do to stabilize his condition until advanced help arrives. In case of winter injuries, the first goal is to keep the person safe and stabilize his condition. Wilderness first aid training is crucial as it would equip you with skills that are necessary when you are in these circumstances.

  1. Melt snow

Aside from getting warm, you also need to get hydrated. Staying hydrated actually helps you prevent frostbite and hypothermia. When in the middle of a frozen mountain, you can’t expect to find running water. As such, you need to know how to melt snow using your available heating sources or the fire that you’ve started. Remember, you can stay alive without food but not without water.

  1. Get found.

When preparing for an outdoor adventure, be sure to notify your friends or relatives of your whereabouts, itinerary and expected arrival date. Instruct them to alert the Search and Rescue team in case you don’t come home as scheduled. In case, you haven’t informed anyone, you need to learn the basics of emergency signaling. One of the classic ways is to put up a fire and let it smoke. There are lots of survival kits that come with GPS tracking tools that you activate to automatically alert SAR in case of problems.

It would greatly help to learn these basic skills when planning winter adventure. You wouldn’t lose anything if you start learning about these.

Steampunk is one of the most sadly underrated genres of story in all of history. Steampunk is the genre of “future with a classical slant.” This means the future according to the Victorian Era… The future was full of clockwork, flying ships, and complicated machinery. Steampunk is a wonderful type of entertainment because it is so far outside of what most people think of as “the future;” steampunk offers a way of looking at the future that very few people will ever see. So come with me and take a look at a version of the future most people will never look at!

The Edge Chronicles

One of the best steampunk series is also one of the most non-mainstream series on bookstore shelves: The Edge Chronicles. This series is about a land that is on the edge of the most massive cliff at the end of the world. It is an adventure full of strange creatures, massive flying ships that carry pallets of cargo like the ones from http://kronuscollars.com/, and a slight atmosphere of dread.

The series does a masterful job of showing dread and fear without going over the top with anything horror elements. This series is 10 books long; there are 3 independent stories of 3 books apiece, and then they are all wrapped up in a masterful 10th book.

Bioshock

Now, this one is not a book so it’s cheating a bit, but Bioshock is a game that brought some of the core elements of steampunk into the public eye. All of the technology is very old-school futuristic; that basically means that it is what “futuristic” would have looked like in the imaginations of the people of the Victorian era.

The Bioshock series puts you in the world of Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged” reimagined to a different story and a steampunk world. It’s worth giving this game a try!

His Dark Materials

Phillip Pullman’s books “His Dark Materials” pull from classic literature like “Paradise Lost” and from the steampunk tradition. His amazing writing carries you through the series, like pallets from Kronus Collars.

His books, starting with “The Golden Compass” go through adventures with gods and demons, and tells the story of two children trying to find their destiny in this strange world of odd technology and supernatural creatures. This series blends steampunk and fantasy in a beautiful way.

Sherlock Holmes

This entry on the list might be slightly controversial, but this movie does so well at blending the Victorian era with the modern age that it HAS to be included. Robert Downey Jr. is a truly timeless hero in this movie; he seems both modern and Victorian at the same time.

Steampunk captures the imagination because it is so timeless; it’s not modern, and it’s not old. Spread the word and dip your toes in the world of steampunk, because you won’t regret learning the amazing things it has to offer, and visiting the amazing worlds that the stories tell of.

It does not take much convincing to tell a fan of anime shows like Desert Punk that they should consider learning a martial art. Martial arts help with your discipline, combat skills, and overall fitness. Learning a martial art can be one of the most powerful tools that can change your life. Here are a few of the powerful benefits that marital arts can give to your life!

It Keeps You OUT of Fights

Martial art’s overall goal is to make sure that you don’t get into too many fights. It does not encourage violence, contrary to what many people believe from TV and movies. When you learn martial arts you will be learning a way of self-discipline that encourages you to think about fighting as something to be avoided. You will learn how to carry on a fight, but at the end of the day your martial arts training was a success if you can find a non-violent way of ending the fight.

It Gives You Discipline

Once again, martial arts are not all about fighting. Learning martial arts is a lifelong process that teaches you discipline and conquer of self. You will be able to withstand anyone or anything that comes your way. What worked best for me is a gentle art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I recommend checking out Goodbye Ninja to see what BJJ is all about as also check out for martial arts equipment reviews. The biggest benefits from martial arts is the learning the ability to hold yourself in a fight (but we’ll get to that in a minute!); and also increased confidence, plus inner calmness.

It Lets You Hold Your Own In a Fight

Go ahead and raise your fists and put on your kung-fu belt; it’s time to fight now! Although martial arts it not all about fighting, it is about fighting to a good degree! You didn’t want to learn martial arts for the mental discipline of it; you wanted to learn for the raw fighting power! And you will be able to fight; you will be able to hold your own against the average person who wants to tangle with you. Be careful of this power, because you can use it to hurt people or to help them!

It Keeps You Strong

Martial arts are one of the best workouts that you can do for your body. You use every single part of your body to perform the complex maneuvers needed for martial arts. Martial arts combine cardio and a workout together, making your body a powerful and unstoppable tool. The longer you spend doing martial arts, the more fit of a person you become.

Martial arts work every part of your body equally, so that you are fit all over instead of just having certain parts of your body be powerful and others not. Martial arts are good for your mind and body; everyone can benefit from learning them!

We would all like to think that we could handle a disaster situation, but unless you put in the time to prepare, you will end up unable to handle the disaster situation ahead of you.

Having a body and mind that is ready for a disaster is not something that comes naturally to anyone; you have to put in the effort. Here are the things I do to make sure I’m ready to handle anything from simple wilderness survival to an apocalypse!

Learn To Play Chess

If you know how to play chess you are off to a good start when it comes to mental strength. You will be able to control your mind and your emotions, and you will be able to think several steps ahead of other people. Learning to play chess is a skill that is not just good for some entertainment and fun; it gives you a way to think under pressure, and know how to strive for an objective when someone is trying to stop you. You can learn how to play through iPhone and Android apps, or on chess.com to sharpen your skills.

Learn to Play a Musical Instrument

Learning to play a musical instrument gives you the mental strength to think critically and creatively. While chess will allow your strategy to grow; getting a musical instrument, for example wind instrument from Wind Plays, increases your brain multitasking capabilities, plus learning an instrument is a fun activity, too! Most brilliant thinkers can play an instrument of some kind – is there a connection? In my experience, learning instrument makes you smarter and more patient: having these traits is always good for being prepared.

Hit The Gym!

You don’t have to be a powerful bodybuilder to accomplish this step, but it will help you in an emergency to be fit and ready to go. You don’t have to get a gym membership or anything… Just start with what you have! Do push-ups, crunches, or run; anything that gets your heart rate up and ready to handle bad situations as they come. If you want to handle disasters, you have to be fit! There is no other way to make sure you can handle tough situations.

Read Survival Books

One important way to prepare your mind for tough situations is to read books related to survival. These books don’t just have to be dry textbooks about how to find berries in the wilderness; they can be adventure books as well! Even watching TV shows like desert punk can give you a bit of the essential education that you need in order to survive in the wilderness or through an apocalypse.

Prepare Yourself!

You don’t know when you’ll have to survive, do you need to start preparing now! Start reading, start learning, pick up an instrument to learn; anything to make sure you have the skills to survive any situation: both mentally and physically. Don’t put it off; start today and develop your survival skills now!

Hi! Chris here. One of the things many people don’t have with them at all is a good quality set of survival gear.

Now, I’m not some kind of crazy person who hides in a cabin in the woods just “waiting for the sky to fall,” but I DO believe in preparing for trouble so that when trouble finds you, you don’t have to panic because you’ve already taken the time to prepare!

So today we’re going to go through the best survival gear for your day-to-day needs!

A Portable Water Filter

If you don’t have water, you die. That’s sadly just how life works. So here’s the thing; you NEED to get water in some form when disaster strikes. But here’s the catch; after a world-altering calamity, water won’t be clean.

It will be filled with pollutants and infectants and things that will get you sick. And you DON’T need that when there’s a problem. That will do nothing but hurt you really badly. So getting a portable water filter is a MUST if you want to live through a disaster.

A Good Knife

There are very few disaster situations where a good knife would NOT come in handy; a quality knife is not only a good cutting tool for food and rope and whatever you need to cut, but it is a great defense tool when a fight with another person or a dangerous animal comes up. I recommend a US Marine Corps KA-BAR knife; it is durable, military-grade, and can survive whatever you put it through. And it’s cheap!

multi-tool

A Multi-Tool

A multi-tool such as a leatherman will give you the edge that you need in order to navigate an urban environment. You will be able to open doors, unscrew boxes and door hinges, and generally get anywhere you need! You can also open bottles and cans with the tool and use the built-in pliers. A multi-tool very well could save your life!

Some Form of Entertainment

In a survival situation you don’t just need to survive; you need to have a reason to live. Having some sort of entertainment can give you the will to live longer than someone who is a cold, hard survivalist.

One of the best options is a musical instrument of some kind; a durable drum such as ones from http://barkingdrum.com/ can give you a distraction from the sometimes-mundane life of a survivalist. You could also get cards or high-quality books; anything that can help distract your mind from the realities of survivalism for a little while so that you have a chance to recharge and stay sane.

Prepare To Stay Alive!

Whether you are running through the streets of a ravaged city finding supplies or learning to play a drum from Barking Drum, you need to put in the time to prepare if you want to live through a disaster. Nothing can save you but preparation; so get out there and get ready to stay alive by assembling your personal survival kit!

There’s no doubt about it; one of the coolest parts of anime is the amazing range of weapons that the heroes and villains wield. Even if you are not much of an anime fan yourself, you will be able to appreciate the incredible range of powerful weapons and tools that these characters wield; they range from simple axes and swords to powerful and lethal futuristic devices. Get ready to have your inner warlord unlocked!

The Dominator

These devices from the popular show “Psycho Pass” will only allow their user to wield them; no one else could pick up the Dominator and use it against the Law Enforcement officer who owns it. This powerful gun also reads the mental stability of its intended target and will adapt accordingly; it will show no mercy if the target is a killer, but will only stun people that mean less harm.

Death Scythe

This powerful weapon is the most dangerous tool in the world of the Black Butler series. It has the ability to cut through literally anything in existence. The Grim Reapers use this tool to kill people; this weapon is the only thing that can permanently kill anyone. Even the Grim Reapers themselves can be killed by this weapon, making it one of the most powerful weapons in any anime series!

The Tessaiga

This weapon wielded by InuYasha was forged from the tooth of a demon and now goes to work killing demons everywhere. This sword has a huge range of abilities; it can block almost any attack, and it can absorb the powers of other weapons used against it. It can create barriers to protect InuYasha, and it can change its form to look like whatever it needs to. InuYasha can kill over 100 demons with a single swing of the blade.

The Cross Punisher

This weapon is one of the most grossly overpowered weapons in an TV series ever. Wielded by Nicholas D. Wolfwood, an assassin with a heart of gold, this weapon has the powers of a 1 man army. It weighs over 300 lbs, and can unleash so many bullets at once that it seems like there is a squadron firing at his enemies. You can have a portion of the power of the Cross Punisher when you get an air rifle from Rifle Judge.

The Jericho 941 R

This gun is wielded by Spike Spiegal in Cowboy Bebop. This powerful pistol has a built-in scope and a powerful punch. This pistol’s power comes from the fact that it’s design is so simple; it doesn’t need anything fancy to get the job done. A space cowboy’s best friend is his trusty pistol!

Impressed Yet?

Anime, more so than any other entertainment medium, has some of the most powerful weapons of any type of TV or movie. You don’t want to mess with anyone handling any of these amazing weapons! If you want powerful guns and swords, just look to any of these amazing stories!

You know you’re a true anime addict when can’t seem to wait for opening track to end. I guess everyone’s a serial offender! We just don’t have the patience to sit through roughly a minute of musical score.

But I have to admit, there are some anime soundtracks that are just too magnetic that you’d hate to skip it. Today I decided to make a list of my favorite themes for anime TV series. I’ve only considered the opening themes for this list.

So, we’re ready to get started!

  1. Cowboy Bebop

Pardon me if I say this one’s the best anime soundtrack ever! Who wouldn’t love this jazzy anime theme? Yoko Kanno did an extra mile – forming a band called the Seatbelts – to come up with this outstanding anime theme. He is also known for making OSTs for other anime classics like Ghost in Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

  1. Wolf’s Rain

This one surely belongs in my fave list. For someone who has tried to learn how to play digital piano, my ears seem to be biased towards soundtracks played on piano. Yep, I did try to study playing piano in school and I still occasionally play this theme on my digital piano. I read about this piano model at https://digitalpianojudge.com/ and it’s really great for playing anime themes. Oh, back to Wolf’s Rain OST, it just perfectly suits the mood, theme and tone of the series. Unless you hate emo, soul or lonely soundtracks, I’m certain you’ll love this too.

  1. FLCL

Third in my list is the FLCL soundtrack. Would you skip a theme as magnetic as this one? This anime series OST has transformed The Pillows from being an indie J-Rock band into a mainstream band with enjoyed a brief popularity among anime fans around the world.

  1. Guilty Crown

Forget about the story, the writing, the characters – just listen to this anime’s soundtrack. This anime may have botched on other aspects but it surely sounds perfect! All tracks in the OST was composed and produced by Hiroyuki Sawano; Supercell provided music for the opening and ending.

  1. Code Geass

Official soundtracks for this anime were provided by Hitomi Kuroishi and Kotaro Nakagawa. Not only do they sound great and dramatic, they also add the much needed backdrop in scenes that provide giant plot twists.

  1. Mushishi

Produced by Toshio Masuda, the soft music of Mushishi effectively brings out the tone of the series. I don’t really understand why whit anime OST is understated but, ironically, it seems to make it stand out. Of course, Masuda is not new in the world of anime music – he also wrote the melodies for the original Narutor anime.

  1. Samurai Champloo

This list won’t be complete without these OSTs. It’s equally good as its sister series Bebop. The concept of adding dance and samurai is so fresh and the music around that theme is also perfect! Truly, the combination of these two makes it an outstanding and excellent anime soundtrack!

There you have it – the best anime OSTs I recommend that you listen too. Did I miss out on your fave anime theme?
